Michael Rogers is offering a new type of design workshop to assist artists in finding their voice using a variety
of materials and techniques that will enable an artist to transform objects from the ordinary, into the extraordinary.
A rebus is an allusional device that uses pictures to represent words or parts of words, like pictograms. Students
will use associative thinking, metaphors, poetry, lyricism, and narrative to assist in eveloping personal content
for creative ideas. Learn how to discover ways of working and designing artwork that is significant to you and
explore how objects are connected or joined together through a variety of glass or mixed media fabrication processes.
The basic idea is to create a story using found objects to invent a sculptural rebus. Students will be sent further
information for this class and recommended preparation prior to class instruction.
