The Peninsula Glass Guild (PGG) invites you to become an active member and participate in our special events. The Guild was established in 1986 to promote quality art glass in the community and to provide a forum for glass artists to gather together for educational and support purposes. We typically hold bi-monthly meetings, often at the Charles H. Taylor Arts Center in Hampton Virginia, but also at other locations to share information on a variety of topics of interest to both hobbyists and professional glass artists alike. Suggestions for meetings and field trips are always welcome. Contact the President with your ideas, or offer them up at the next meeting.
2007 marked the 21st anniversary of the founding of the Peninsula Glass Guild and saw the20th annual members show. The Guild is continuing to grow, so help us by becoming a member!
PGG offers workshops for members to encourage growth. Our members have diversified backgrounds and work in a variety of glass media. PGG has members living throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Each year the Guild creates a large piece of art glass and donates it to a public organization. The donated piece is funded, group-constructed, and installed by the Guild. Past works have been donated to the Newport News SPCA, the Virginia Living Museum, Hampton Arts Commission, the Yorktown Victory Center, the Virginia Medical Center, the Virginia Air and Space Center in Hampton, Shelton on the Bay (an Adult Home) in Phoebus, the CANDII House in Norfolk, the Newport News Public Library, the Virginia Holocaust Museum in Richmond, and the American Theatre in Phoebus. In addition to the donated pieces, the Guild has also jointly purchased artwork for the Chrysler Museum in Norfolk, and donated art materials (books and videos) to area libraries for all to enjoy. An installation piece being finished now will be installed at Portlock Galleries in SoNo. Watch for the anouncement of its installation.

Year 2008- 9? Stay tuned for updates as the new year unfolds! Our membership has grown by leaps and bounds, and the only thing we are missing is You!
Judy Doyle has started a slide database of Guild Member artwork - a portfolio containing the work of members to be presented to museums or galleries where we may be exhibiting. Members wishing to participate can call Judy at 757-721-6669.
The Guild is always looking for volunteers for fundraising, the 2008 Annual Show (December-January), activities, and hospitality. Contact Nancy if you'd like to help out.
The year ends (as always) with the annual members show at Charles H. Taylor Arts Center in Hampton. A chance to show your work and vie for cash awards and the chance to put on a solo exhibition at the next year's annual show. Check links on the home page for images from many of our past shows.
